SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Screens, evaluates, and treats residents in accordance with reasonable and medically necessary guidelines.
  2. Evaluate resident within two working days of physician referral.
  3. Develop effective treatment plans.
  4. Supervise CFs and Rehab Techs in direct resident care and/or resident-related activities as indicated.
  5. Treat residents according to a treatment plan approved by the attending physician.
  6. Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding resident progress, problems, and plans.
  7. Participate as necessary in resident care conferences and weekly rehabilitation and Reimbursement meetings as indicated.
  8. Participate in inservice training programs.
  9. Record clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory, corporate and professional guidelines.
  10. Accurately record daily treatments and labor.
  11. Establish and instruct caregivers in resident specific maintenance programs.
  12. Participate in discharge planning.
  13. Secure necessary durable medical equipment and adaptive equipment for residents to facilitate independence.
  14. Act as a clinical preceptor for affiliating Speech-Language Pathology schools.
  15. Comply with state regulations and national standards as they apply to the practice of Speech-Language Pathology.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association.
  2. A Speech-Language Pathologist completing the Clinical Fellowship with appropriate supervision from a certified and licensed SLP
  3. Current state license as an SLP in the state of Texas
  4. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  5. Must possess problem-solving skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
  6. Must possess good communication skills and be able to relate professionally and positively to residents, resident’s family members, and facility staff
  7. Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam or drug screen if required.
  8. Must be capable of performing the Responsibilities of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Mobility (includes walking, good balance), reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, ability to see and hear, ability to read and write, ability to communicate with residents, family members, personnel, and ability to remain calm under stress.

Rehab Synergies is an In-House Therapy Provider of Therapy Services to 50 Centers in Texas and Wisconsin and now expanding into other states. We are ramping up for major growth in the years ahead; central to our strategy is a significant expansion of the Rehabilitation Department.
We are currently seeking Full-time, Part-time and PRN professionals for our In-House Therapy Program and Home Health Program.
